Looking at the "other" thread - "real name instead of Screen name displayed" started by Lilybiri, it seems that there is a great deal of concern regarding this matter.
Basically, I do not want my real name displaying. That's why I created a screen name or username.
Some clever sad hackers will even be able to get past this if they really want to. For some bizarre reason it presents a "challenge" to them.
I feel that although probably most of these geeks are harmless, there are those that would like to strip you completely of your identification and rob your bank accounts. Surely we should all be on our guard in an attempt to make things as difficult as possible for these vermin.
Its all very well certain people pontificating that using your real details shows the rest of the contributors that you are in turn a genuine and honest member who gives the impression that you are not out to abuse others or the system, but I find it extremely naïve. If they want their details sold and used by cyber criminals let them carry on, at least they are not coming at me!
I feel that perhaps the web administrators should step in now and give some assurances. last night I received about 30 emails notifying me that this subject was still being hotly "discussed". Surely it is time to put it to bed now.
